Time for fun

time_for_funNational Family Week is the perfect reason to spend quality time with your kids.

If you are raising your children yourself or with a partner, whatever your marital status, having children makes you part of a family. If you are separated from your partner and children, keeping relationships with ex-partners a relevant part of your life is an essential and healthy aspect to your child’s life. Even though your role as husband or partner may have ended, your role as a parent has definitely not.

While being a father is stressful, especially depending on the participation of the other individual involved, it can be even more stressful for your child. Late night arguments, custody battles and new living arrangements can drastically change a child’s life. Working with your partner to find the best situation in the child’s interest is an important part of continuing on as a parent and eventually, a family.

But it shouldn’t all be serious. During National Family Week, fathers are encouraged to participate in the numerous events scheduled across the U.K., ensuring you get fun time with your little one(s). The Week kicks off on bank holiday Monday 31st May with National Family Week Picnic – so why not pack some sandwiches and a frisbee and head down to your local park? National Family Week Sports Day will be on Saturday 5th June, so you could seek out your closest event and enter the three-legged race. Or you could simply watch a family film together or take the time to read them their favourite story.

Being a father is a wonderful experience. Spend some quality time with your loved ones during National Family Week, and show them just how much you care.

Keep an eye on local events that will be taking place near you, by visiting the events map at the National Family Week website.
