Very funny video to go with that news item, did you guys spend hours trowling the internet for that one?

Have to say that that is where the humour ends. I'm appawled that some dads only spend an hour with their kids. No wonder the author of the suggested amendment to the human fertilisation and embryology act 1990 can be stupid enough to state ‘children do not need a father’ if kids are being forced to grow up without more than 60 minutes contact a day.

I'm really angry that we live in a world were either men are making choices to not be with their kids or, are being "forced" to not spend time with their kids.. (umm a link to the work life balance thread!)

wow westwing mate don't hold back will you! I agree that its an appawling state of affairs... but what do you mean by "forced"?

A wider question is .... How much time do we all spend with our kids, and what do we spend that time doing.. i don't mean how much time are you around your kids but how much time are you investing in your kids?

Interesting news piece, was looking for this. I still wonder how much of this stat is because of all the non-resident dads out there. When my wife & I first split, I only saw the kids for one day every second weekend - that works out at well less than an 'hour a day'. Investing in the kids (timewise) becomes hard when you are having to earn so much to run two households...
