Hi all im new but im going to go in deep from the start
Along time ago in a galaxy.........no just kidding
A longtime ago i had 3 sons and through a relationship breakdown we split and i didnt see them for 20 yrs and ive now found out they are trying to contact me, but i'm not sure what to do the trouble is going to come from my ex she was a big problem and the main reason for the split. Im remarried now and have been with my current wife for 15 yrs (she was not part of the split)
and she had a son when we met who is now 20, i never had any other children ( i thought that i'd ruined Enough childrens lives already).
The real problem is that i didnt want to pop into and out of their lives( and there were other problems aswell) so i didnt contact them at all for 20 yrs and now they are still trying to contact me, to be honest im scared of what they want, i dont know if they want to meet me or kill me or what. If i could find someone who had been in a similar position it may help me to get their opinion and if anyone knows of any proffessional organisations that could help us all i would be very grateful

Bud - if they are trying to contact you it would seem they want to meet you... Its never too late to start a relationship with them... take it slow but go for it would be my thoughts....

Let us know how it goes, i would be interested to know and am sure others would benefit !

Cheers Ron

Johndoe - just to say that i think you should contact him too. Whats the worst that can happen, he'll express his anger and then you wont see him again...what's the best that can happen - the two of you can get to know each other and you can be his dad.

I gues it must be a little scary thou, and it will be a bit wierd picking up after so many years. Go into it knowing that you are building a relationship with a man not a boy, a man who has his own ideas, values and who formed those with out you giving guidence so you may not agree with certain things he values but thats something you just have to deal with .. but dude "Strong with you the force it is" ..

may the force be with you bro...
