National Family Week

This is a week long celebration of families, encouraging them to spend time together

This week (25th - 31st May) is the UK’s first ever National Family week - a nationwide, week-long celebration of families. This new national occasion will encourage families to play, learn, eat, read, compete and - most importantly - spend quality time together. Join in the fun with your family and celebrate National Family Week!

National Family Week is an important national initiative to celebrate family life in the UK involving not-for-profit organisations, companies and families across the country and culminating in a week of activities encouraging families to spend more quality time together.

The Week will feature local and nation-wide events, activities, competitions and promotions to encourage and enable all families to take part and benefit in some way.

Just one of the great ideas is the ‘Family Week Feast’ on Sunday 31st May: Everyone including parents, children, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins will be encouraged to get together over a sit-down meal. Whether you feast at home or out and about, it’s all about quality time together.

Experts say that families that sit down together regularly to eat are healthier and happier, and have healthier, happier relationships. Dining together shouldn't be a special occasion, it should be part of your daily routine, so make this Family Week Feast the first of many!
