Public Humiliation – The Failing

So I am trying the Slendertone thingy out because the Health Fascists at Dadtalk made me do (that’s my story and I am sticking to it).As I explained last week the Slendertone is exercise without having to exercise. This was probably invented with me in mind!

Unfortunately, even with a piece of exercise equipment that would enable the laziest individual I have failed. I stuck to the recommended plan for about 4 days then went away for a weekend and then forgot. Curses.

During my time of forgetting I did suddenly notice a number of TV adverts for Slendertone (all of which included women). So I concluded that I am inadvertently caught up in a strange conspiracy. I also concluded that I need to get some sort of life and to lay off the cheese.

Anyhoo, I failed and I re started. I have not bother to measure my gut to see if there has been any sort of reduction but I have been walking to appointments (I work from home) considerably more which means I have been walking for at least 30 minutes a day and usually more than that.

As any working parent will tell you, finding time for exercise is tough. You get up, you get the kids up, you take them to school or go you to work and before you know it the clock says 7pm and the only thing you can think about is what to watch on TV. If at this point in your day someone were to suggest exercise then a violent reaction is likely. Bringing exercise into to a finely balanced life is difficult as there are other people in the family that need to be considered.

Back to the Slendertone, it is a strange piece of kit. It has three sticky patches on it which conduct the electric shocks into your muscles. These sticky patches are very sticky indeed and there is a chance that any weight loss gained from using this will be because it rips the hair off my stomach.

So Dadtalk readers, I pledge to use it properly for a whole week and feedback to you any loss in gut inches...
