A new online parents school network has been recently launched
A new online parents’ school network has been recently launched for all secondary schools in the UK by Netmums, working with DadTalk.
Every secondary school has their own forum - a local board where parents can post new messages and reply to others. All sorts of topics can be discussed from school dinners and homework to bullying. It’s a great way for parents to keep in touch with each other, without the “school gates” of primary school.
Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children’s Schools and Families comments: “I'm very pleased that we are funding Netmums to run this project in partnership with DadTalk. We need to find innovative ways of involving parents in schools, particularly in secondary schools. I like to think of it as a 'virtual school gate' - where parents can chat to each other on line, find out what is happening in the schools and pass on useful information to each other.”
So, take a minute to join the network ....you need to go to www.netmums.com and log into to the local site. From there, you can find your child’s school under the “Older child & school” section and start posting.
Remember - ‘parents’ means both Mums AND Dads - have your say and get involved in your kids school life.
