Can you remember back as far as early December 2011, I know it’s a long time ago and a lot has happened in such a short time but cast your mind back. I recall much discussion in our house about presents.
I think it was Jasper who first mentioned Christmas presents back in circa June 2011. I know it was June because his birthday is in May and let’s face it when your 7 and your birthday gifts have been unwrapped your mind is drawn, like a moth to a candle, to the next BIG gift opportunity!
It's actually not a bad thing that Jasper had 7 months to discuss at some length his hopes and aspirations about what would tumble from Santa’s sack, you see gents, Jasper is not great at making a decision. Unlike Harvey who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go get it (literally!), Jasper takes time to mull over the full impact of his choices. When Grandma, for example, sends over some money to buy a magazine Harvey will go straight to the newsagent and pick one and he's done. Jasper could take an hour if we let him. Have to say the wife has a lot more patience when J is mulling over the ups and downs of Toxic verses Nitro.
So after 7 months of pondering and a quick change right at the last minute Jasper asked Santa for some Speed Stacks and Hot Wires as his main gifts with looks like Gulliver’s Travels, Guinness Book of Records, LEGO Ninjago and the LEGO Ideas Book and a few second hand Play Station games thrown in for good measure. I'm happy to report Santa did not disappoint.
Funny though that after all the planning that would give the finest project manager a run for his money Jaspers favourite things were the simple times he got in his stocking: some farty putty, drum stick sweets, puzzle ball and Doddle Dudes. Go figure!
