The Department of Education has asked DadTalk to make our community of Dads aware of an important independent review that will look at the commercialisation and sexualisation of childhood.
On the 6 December 2010, following increasing national concern that children are pressured into growing up too quickly, the Government announced that an independent review would be established. The review will advise how to address the commercialisation and premature sexualisation of childhood. This review is being headed by Reg Bailey, Chief Executive of the Mothers’ Union, who yesterday publically asked individuals and organisations to submit their views to him in a call for evidence.
Reg is really keen to hear from
- Parents, Grandparents, and Carers
- Organisations interested in this issue,
So if you have a view or if you have seen the effect in your own children’s lives then let Reg know here.
Please note that you don’t have to log into the page or register with the site to give feedback just click on the Respond on-line tab to fill in the feedback form.
The views submitted through this questionnaire will help Reg develop his recommendations which will be published in May 2011.
