Introduction

With their new independence and busy schedules, it's sometimes hard to stay in touch with our teens. But they need our support, and, there are still plenty of times when they want and need to be with us, too.

• During the teenage years more than at any other time in a child's life, parents need to be able to communicate not only their love and respect for their child, but also their ideas, values and concerns.
• Listening is a learned skill; no one is born knowing how to listen.
• Offer Options, Not Edicts!
